Chromehounds Papercraft - Chokipeta

These Chokipeta Chromehounds papercraft might be old but it still kicks ass. It came out a few months after I started this blog back in 2006, I knew about it then but for some reason I forgot do a post on it. It was based on a video game of the same name and for the Xbox 360 console and was first released in Japan on June 2006. These Chromehounds papercrafts include three mechs: Morskoj, Sal Kar, and Tarakia. Each mech represents a fictional nation that make up the Neroimus region (where the game takes place). This is classic ChokipetaKOBO work, clean lines, well planned out pattern, and great instructions. Free download is still available at the official Chromehounds Japan web site.

The Ultimate Papercraft Collection

The title says it all, this is probably one the best papercraft collection that I've ever seen, erase that, it is the best papercraft collection I've seen so far. The number of extremely rare and limited editions is just astounding. I would be lying if I said that I'm not impressed, because I am very impressed with it. The picture I used for this post is a Chokipeta designed papercraft from a Japanese Xbox game called Metal Wolf Chaos, the reason for that is because it's one of five that I've been hunting down for quite some time now and I still couldn't get my hands on one.

Just by looking at it I can easily tell that a serious amount of money went into acquiring such a vast and huge collection, if you're not based in Japan it'll cost even more. Here's an example to give you an idea of how much money you have to spend to get a limited edition papercraft (I'm talking from a collector's POV ok), well use the Chokipeta Giant Robo Head on the Collections 3 folder for our example.

Let's pretend you live in the United States or somewhere out of Japan and that you can read and write Japanese, realistically there's two ways to get it: purchase it directly or win it in an auction. When you purchase it directly you have to buy the DVD set that it comes with (on sale Softgarage.jp for $200 + shipping)(Amazon Japan $213 + $30 shipping), if you decide to go for the auction route you can head on to Yahoo Japan Auctions or any other reputable auction site and try to search if they have it (the odds of finding one are very slim). If/once you find it, bid - pray - hope you'll win. However, if you don't speak the language, you can use a third-party auction-bidding site such as Rinkya, ooh!Japan, MoJ, etc. to place the bid for you for a fee (on top of other fees). Yes, doing the auction route will definitely break your piggy bank.

The owner of this collection goes by the handle name Tikitiki_m and proudly displays his/her collection at the link below.

Scopedog Papercraft - Chokipeta

It's not a big secret here in the site that I'm a big fan of Chokipeta, I've been collecting his papercrafts for quite some time now and when I saw these photos it made me wish I had easy access to Japan. I saw the note on his web site last year (November) about him? showing up at the recent Super Festival 45 (January 6, 2008) in Tokyo - it's a hobby event featuring scale models and toys. But I forgot to post about it, anyways, follow the link below for detailed photos of Chokipeta's three new papercraft models taken by Joseph Tsai of Tokyo Hunter.

Chokipeta Tank Contest

Here's a little something to do during your Christmas/winter holiday break, I'm giving away an original Chokipeta papercraft kit, it's from an old Playstation 2 tank simulation strategy game from Sega/Sammy Entertainment called Standard Daisenryaku: Dengekisen released in Japan 2004.

It goes with the series of free Chokipeta-designed papercrafts from this site. The kit is unopened so I don't know how many pages are in it, I'm also not a tank expert so feel free to correct me if I'm wadming with my guess - that this is a Tiger 1 (Panzerkampfawagen VI Ausf. E) tank. The rules are pretty simple, just take a picture of you with your favorite papercraft/s - the theme is "Happy Holidays". Feel free to use any of your relatives or pets as props. You have to include a sign that says Paperkraft.net in the photo for authentication purposes. Send your entries to paperkraftsATgmailDOTcom with the title "Chokipeta Tank". One entry per email, entries close on December 31. Merry Christmas!

Charmander Papercraft

Another day, another Pokemon papercraft. This time it's a Charmander (ヒトカゲ Hitokage) papercraft / paper model. It's a fire-type Pokemon that resembles a biped-salamander? with a very prominent feature, it's got a flame burning on the tip of it's tail. It's main ability on the game is called Blaze (もうか Raging Flames), which powers up fire-type moves. It also does physical attacks with the use of its sharp claws (Slash).

The Charmander papercraft pattern is in PDF format, has two pages, and comes in a measly 208 kb, although the scan is a bit on the rough side, you can adjust your print settings to enlarge it a bit so you can easily see the cut and fold lines. Produced by Chokipeta.

Check out the other Pokemon characters and Chokipeta creations that I've posted in the past by going to the links below.

Pikachu Papercraft

Pokemon (ポケモン) is one of Nintendo's most successful and profitable media franchise to date, with cash cows in various markets such as video games, anime, manga, toys, books, and trading cards. Even the items that you use in your daily life (kitchen utensils, clothing, food, home appliances, etc..) is guaranteed to have a Pokemon version of it somewhere (most probably Japan). The thing that started it all was the Pocket Monsters (ポケットモンスター, Poketto Monsuta) video game for Nintendo's Game Boy system created by Satoshi Tajiri back 1995, and a year later changed to "Pokemon" for it's western version.

One of the most notable characters was Pikachu (yellow-colored mouse with electricial powers), it is regarded as the official mascot of the Pokemon franchise and today we have it in papercraft form. This Pikachu papercraft is from Chokipeta, and you know what that means, it's going to be an easy and fun build. Enjoy!

GR-8 (Giant Robo) Papercraft

Just released today, check out the GR-8 papercraft from the official Giant Robo web site.

For those in the dark, Giant Robo (ジャイアントロボ) is a manga and tokusatsu series created by famed Japanese manga artist Mitsuteru Yokoyama, who also happens to create that other popular robot series, Gigantor (Iadmin Man #28). The Giant Robo web site has been steadily releasing papercraft after papercraft of their beloved robots to coincide with their celebration of Giant Robo's 40th anniversary. All papercraft robots on their site are created by Chokipeta.

Honey and Clover Papercraft

Today we've got a new Chokipeta papercraft model for you guys, this is from the Honey and Clover (ハチミツとクローバー Hachimitsu to Kurōbā) manga series created by Chika Umino. I honestly don't have a clue as to what it's story is all about, but after some googling, I found out that this is a dramedy/romance series of some sort, of which I'm not a big fan. But in any case, I know there's a lot of you who would like this and would love to add it to your papercraft collection.

I'm not going to give a background story for this one because I don't like drama stories, but if you would like to know more about it, the Honey and Clover wiki entry is here. I will just point out that the blonde girl papercraft model is named Hagumi Hanamoto (花本 はぐみ), 18 years old??? I can't find any info. on the rabbit.

As usual, like the other Chokipeta models, this Honey and Clover papercraft has very good form and assembly is a cinch. I would like to thank our subscriber Snake from the Futaba channel for sending the papercraft pattern, that's two in a row friend, thank you. Well, here you go, have fun!

Previous model can be found here and other Choki models here.

Notes: admin would like to give special thanks to Jen for her work on the first Wind Waker Link pattern and also thanks to Snake for sending in this new model.

Stegosaurus Papercraft

I've got a new one for you guys, it's a green stegosaurus papercraft model from Chokipeta, it's not very polished like their newer models - this ones still cube-like, definitely an earlier work like the bird and car that was posted not long ago. Very easy and simple, this shouldn't be a problem for anybody at any level.

Chokipeta Papercraft Car

So far we've posted the Four Swords and Wind Waker Link, a Meowth Balloon, a cat, a bird, and now another easy build from Chokipeta, a papercraft car. Most of you have requested the blue and red robot from the now defunct Graffiti Lab(choki built as well), I remember having that one saved on my paper model collection, so I'll rummage through some old back up discs over the Memorial Day weekend (travellers drive safely) and hopefully post it by next week.

Chokipeta Bird Papercraft

Went outside the balcony for some fresh air when I noticed this bright blue bird just hanging around on one of the trees. I grabbed my camera and started taking pictures, it was kind enough to stay still for a while and do some poses before scooting out. Palm cockatoo papercraft model by Chokipeta - I believe this is one of his earlier works, dated 2002. Easy enough for beginners and for the kiddos. Have Fun!
