Lyo & Merly Papercraft - Official Mascots for the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games

Lyo Merly Papercraft Lyo the Lion and Merly the Merlion papercrafts, Official Mascots for the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games (Aug 14-26).
Lyo, the "Lion of the Youth Olympics", is a lion cub with a mane as fiery as his passion for life. Full of youthful energy, Lyo is always on the go, exploring and discovering new things and playing sports.

Merly got her name from "mer" (meaning the sea) and "l y" for liveliness and youthfulness. She is a merlion cub who loves exploring the seas surrounding Singapore, and beyond. Although merlions are omnivorous by nature, Merly sticks to a vegetarian diet out of a deep respect for all living creatures.

Water Polo Ball Papercraft

Water Polo Ball Papercraft A cleverly designed water polo ball papercraft from the official Japanese page of the Gifu Prefecture (aka Gifu-ken) water polowater polo team, who is vying for a spot in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.

Water polo balls used to be a solid yellow color, but recent developments in the game have introduced / permitted middle stripes (of a different color) on each side of the ball. The water polo balls look a lot like volleyball (balls) in structure, except that they're made of a waterproof material and covered with a special texture for gripability.
